SuccesSexy Health | Determining Your “Ideal” Body Fat

By |January 5th, 2014|

As a mother of a 6 month old, weight loss is a hot topic for me. This morning, I weighed 125.5 pounds. (I weighed 163 pounds at the end of my pregnancy). My goal is to get back to my lowest weight prior to getting pregnant, which was 117 pounds. I also want to be within a healthy body fat range.

In addition to a digital scale, I also have a body fat monitor. I am currently at 30% body fat. At first, I was VERY discouraged until I did some research and discovered that I am in the “average” body fat range. In fact, for women, a “fit” body fat percentage is around 22%. I’m not sure if I’m pressed to get that low, but I do believe that 25% body fat would be a realistic/healthy goal for me.

I found a great article at www.builtlean.com that has a very comprehensive explanation about body fat. Their charts are based on age and gender and offer detailed descriptions of how fat is distributed at various percentages.

They also provided this photo example of what different body fat percentages look like on women (30% actually looks pretty sexy to me! lol). Click HERE to read their full article.

Midday Motivation | Be Ready For Your Opportunity When It Comes

By |September 25th, 2012|

The secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.  ~Benjamin Disraeli

Its not enough to “talk” about the money you wanna make, the job you want to have, the car you’d like to drive or the relationships you’d like to build. If you want success, you MUST be prepared to receive it! Do the work and get yourself READY. Your big opportunity may be closer than you think…

Self Empowerment | Tired Of Being Passed By? The Problem May Be You…

Self Empowerment | Tired Of Being Passed By? The Problem May Be You…

By |July 13th, 2012|

“Good things come to those who wait, but only what’s left over by those who hustle.” –Abraham Lincoln

Don’t wait until you come across a “big opportunity” before you start to get serious about your goals. By that time, the person who has been more focused, grinding harder, and growing daily, is WAY ahead of you. Success is not just about being an “It Girl/Guy,” it also involves consistency (and sometimes, an appetite that is never “satisfied”).

So many times, I come across people who are bitter, frustrated and tired of being “passed by” when it comes to opportunities. These are the same people who make excuses for why they’re not where they want to be. They also tend to blame the world for their lack of success and rarely take the time to look in the mirror.

I once read a quote that said: “The worse disability is a bad attitude.” If you want more, you gotta do more.  A mediocre effort will NEVER produce extraordinary results. Personally, I work hard and choke my potential until it begs for mercy. I don’t compare myself to others and focus on being the best ME I can be.

Understand that if you are doing MORE than “just enough,” and COMMITTED to your goals, you will achieve them. When you blame, you give away your power. Stop accusing other people of “stealing your success.” The only person standing in the way of you and your goal is YOU…

Things I’ve Learned About Improving My Credit Score [TIPS]

By |April 12th, 2012|

Over the past year, I’ve been able to transform from Credit Standing though good habits, budgeting and discipline. I purchased my home, got approved for a 0% interest loan on my car, and overall get way more “You’re Approved” letters than I use to. There was a point when I could barely get approved for a $100.00 credit line. Today, I have credit that is equivalent to some people’s annual salaries. I’ve learned not to spend what I cannot pay back in cash and to pay my creditors ON TIME. I subscribed to Equifax’s Credit Monitoring service to stay up to date on my score and changes to my report. Additionally, I created an account at CreditKarma.com (which is free). Once a year, I also obtain a FREE copy of my credit report (from all 3 credit bureaus) at: ANNUAL CREDIT REPORT. I am posting a few tips and things that were helpful for me in hopes that it will help others. However, the most important thing to keep in mind is that this process is about DISCIPLINE. You have to make a decision that you are going to FOCUS on making things better and really ACT on your desire to fix things. Personally, I have enjoyed so many more opportunities because of the choices I’ve made about my credit. You can too. As of today, my score is 715. I can remember a time when it was 520, so don’t be discouraged. I plan to continue to increase my score through the habits I’ve created. Check out these tips and feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions. I’ll do my best to continue to post resources on this topic….

#212Degrees | Need To Renew Your Inspiration? READ and WATCH This Video!

By |January 31st, 2012|

I cannot explain all of the positive energy I feel around me. Today, I had the opportunity to share ideas with my co-workers about how we can “renew our passions,” and take our Digital Influence to the NEXT level. It was very inspiring and left so many of us feeling EMPOWERED. Sometimes, it is so easy to just “let life happen” when we should be raising our standards and expanding our success. I never want to forget what it felt like to be where I am today. I never want to settle. I want to rise to my highest potential and enjoy an infinite expansion of success. What we focus on, grows. We must FEED our passions daily, renew the inspiration that got us going in the first place and put in the WORK to see our dreams manifest themselves. I am proud of what I’ve accomplished (so far) in my life, but I am convinced that if I apply MORE effort, I can create a life that many would consider “unimaginable.” THIS VIDEO has me motivated in ways I cannot explain! The concept of “212” degrees can be applied to your life spiritually and professionally. Please watch it and be inspired!!

Between the Ages of 28-32? READ THIS | You could be experiencing your “Saturn Return”

By |January 14th, 2012|

If you’re between the ages of 28-32, chances are you’re feeling like life is taking on a “new meaning” OR life is just passing you by. Some may blame their fluctuating emotions but there’s a reason why you’re feeling this way. It’s your Saturn Return. This is such a special time in your life. It’s a time when you should really get serious about your goals and pursue your dreams. I am 33 years old and can truly say, I experienced some of the BEST years of my life during my “Saturn Return.” I moved to Atlanta and got my first major market radio gig, my web development business grew, my physical fitness improved, I purchased my first home, I GOT MARRIED and gave birth to my first daughter. I also grew (tremendously) in my awareness of the “Law of Attraction.” Keep in mind, your Saturn Return could also represent a BIG CHANGE  in your life (like changing careers, beginning new relationships, etc.) You could be on the brink of something INCREDIBLE! I did a little research online about the Saturn Return and have compiled some things you should know here. Check it out:
