The past few months have been very busy for me, so much that I haven't really been able to update everyone on everything that has been happening with me. First off (and as you may have already read on social media), I changed stations at the beginning of August. I feel so blessed to be [...]

Everyone would agree that politics is the HOT TOPIC this year. President Obama is working his re-election campaign and there are 4 potential Republican nominees battling it out for their party’s nomination. No matter WHO you vote for, it is important that you VOTE. […]
Lately, I feel like I’ve been surrounded by inspiration. I feel renewed, loved and motivated to dream BIGGER! I am grateful for this sense of empowerment and pray that those around me can benefit from it to0! In terms of personal changes, I’ve embraced a healthier lifestyle. Not only do I work out at least 3 times per week, I’ve been doing much better at eating foods that are good to my body. I am so proud of what I’ve accomplished over the past year in terms of my physical health. I remember looking at my body after I had my baby and feeling like I would never be the size I wanted to be. Although I was discouraged, I remained focus and SURPASSED by goals! I am proud to say that I am 118 pounds as of today! (When I started my journey, I weighed 157 pounds!) […]
On January 19th, I had the wonderful opportunity to co-host the “Pre-Scene” event to celebrate the opening of the newest clothing boutique in Atlanta, Forever Young Fashion and Accessories. It was an amazing evening of networking, fun, and of course…FASHION! Check out a few flicks from the event! *photos not tagged were taken by www.talkingpretty.com* […]
Instead of complaining about how people are doing it wrong, I decided to type out a few tips that would be helpful for people who need direction. Check them out! 1) MAKE SURE YOUR SONG IS FREE OF PROFANITY It seems like this would be common sense, but you wouldn’t believe how many artists submit profanity laced tracks and expect the radio station to make adjustments for them. Music with curse words will never make it on the radio station. To increase your chances of getting a listen, make sure you have a radio edit version of your track readily available. 2) PRESENTATION IS KEY I understand that when you are excited and passionate about your music, you want others to hear it by any means. However, a recordable CD with the title of your single written on it with a sharpie leaves a bad impression. It makes the decision maker think you are not serious about your career as an artist. If music is what you REALLY want to do, INVEST in yourself. Make sure your CD is presented in a way that represents the quality of the music. Honestly, there have been times when I would listen to a song just out of curiosity because of how nice it was packaged. 3) KNOW WHO THE DECISION MAKERS ARE […]
2011 has been an AMAZING year! There were so many great things that happened in my life, these are the most memorable… [pictured above, my daughter, Ligaya 7 months old on Christmas Day 2011] […]
If you’re in Atlanta, I’m sure you’ve heard my ovation cell therapy commercials. People always ask me: “Maria, do you REALLY use Ovation?” and the answer is YES! I’ve been using it consistently since August of 2010 and can truthfully say that my hair has gotten longer and THICKER since then. In celebration of the holidays, I decided to let one lucky winner try Ovation or gift it to someone they think would enjoy it. To enter to win, “LIKE” my Facebook Page. I will select a winner on December 20th. (You must be in the Atlanta area to pick up the gift set if you win). Good Luck! […]
