While researching for tomorrow’s Midday Motivation message, I came across this quote about “forgiveness” that I thought was so profound. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who can relate to these words, but may not admit it. This is a very humbling point about why it is so hard to forgive certain people:

“None of us wants to admit that we hate someone…When we deny our hate we detour around the crisis of forgiveness. We suppress our spite, make adjustments, and make believe we are too good to be hateful. But the truth is that we do not dare to risk admitting the hate we feel because we do not dare to risk forgiving the person we hate.” – Lewis B. Smedes – Forgive & Forget: Healing the Hurts We Don’t Deserve

This message is about forgiving others, tomorrow’s message will be about the importance of “Self-Forgiveness.” You can listen to the Midday Motivation live on Hot 107.9 in Atlanta weekdays at 10:35am.
