“Envy is the art of counting the other fellow’s blessings instead of your own.” ~Harold Coffin

No matter how much we don’t want to admit it, most of us have struggled with some form a jealousy in our lives. To me, jealousy is simply the fear of not being able to attain the same success we see others enjoy. For some reason, we allow ourselves to think that someone else’s blessing is our denial. But nothing could be further from the truth. We ALL have access to the same abundance in life.

The problem is, when you get too focused on what someone else has, you lose sight of the opportunities right in front of you. I’ve learned that the best cure for jealousy is to be sincerely happy for the success of others. Instead of being jealous or resentful, understand that you can enjoy the same success that you admire in others. Also, when you give your full attention to your own dreams, you leave no space for jealousy, because you’re too focused on getting yours.

Dimming someone else’s light won’t make yours shine brighter. Don’t be jealous; be grateful, because your time will come…
