You should never let having a nice looking body take priority over your health. Remember, in order to have effective workouts and maintain your energy levels throughout the day, you must of a strong immune system. Here are some easy ways you can boost yours:

  1. Stay Hydrated: Water is necessary to flush toxins from your body. Aim to drink at least 80 ounces per day. Also, pay attention to the color of your urine, it doesn’t have to be as clear as water, but if it looks like apple juice, you should definitely be sipping on more H2O!
  2. Trade Processed Foods For Whole Foods: This might not be what you want to here, but most processed (packaged foods, even the “healthy” ones) are packed with chemicals that do more harm than good. From high sodium to hidden calories, processed foods can have many ingredients that will counter your fitness goals and possible compromise your immune system. Do your best to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, buy your meats/seafood fresh instead of the frozen pre-packaged options.
  3. Get some zzzzz’s: Adequate rest is critical for having a healthy immune system. Proper sleep gives your body time to heal and reset. It can also offset food cravings that sleep deprivation cause.
