Only two days after Beyonce gave birth to his baby girl, Jay-Z released “Glory,” dedicated to little Blue Ivy Carter. Baby Carter even makes an appearance at the end of the track!

“Baby I’ll paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you,” raps the proud dad.

Jay even claims that they conceived Blue in Paris before Beyonce made her album 4.

Check out the lyrics and my commentary here:

False alarms and false starts
All made better by the sound of your heart
All the pain of the last time
I prayed so hard it was the last time

Last time the miscarriage was so tragic
We was afraid you’d disappear, but nah, baby, you magic

I can really relate to these lyrics because prior to my daughter being born, I experienced 2 back to back miscarriages. I remember me and my husband going to the doctor the first two times and them telling us they couldn’t find a heartbeat. We were really sad and disappointed. Although we were optimistic, we thought it would be best that we seek a specialist to give us some answers.

Before we could make that appointment, I became pregnant for the 3rd time. My husband was cautiously optimistic. At 6 weeks, we went in to see if the doctors could find a heart beat, and that’s when we saw the flicker…

My husband immediately named my daughter the “Rice Assassin” (because of how small she was at 6 weeks and the fact that her heart was beating good!).

Jay-Z and Beyonce have made it known that that don’t publicly go into the specifics of their relationship. However, Beyonce did admit that she expresses her love for Jay through her music. Jay-Z does the same.

I can’t help but wonder if me and my husband have something in common with Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Either way, I wish them well. There are no words that can explain the emotions you feel once you become a parent. Blessings to all the Moms and Dads who get to experience this privilege.
